Q: What are the advantages of having a DJ over let's say a live band?

A: There are many advantages to having a DJ. Whether you are into the oldies, disco, or country, with a DJ you can hear all of your favorite songs performed by your favorite artists. Even the best cover band is going to have a limited number of tunes that they are familiar with. We bring over 18,000 songs to every event, I'd love to meet a band that knows 18,000 songs. With a DJ there is continuous music all night long, our fingers don't get tired, no need to take breaks.

Q: Do you offer karaoke?

A: No, I have done research on the additional investment in equipment and library expense, it just doesn't fit well with our business model.

Q: How interactive will the DJ be?

A: It's my belief that the DJ is an accessory to the event, not the center of attention. It's only necessary to interact at key points during the event. That being said
we are pleased to help motivate the guests as well as acting as the Emcee.

Q: What's deposit for?

A: The reservation deposit helps us ensure that you are committed to the event, and also prevents us from a total loss of revenue for a particular date should there be a cancellation.

Q: If I bring an ipod or other media player can we play music off of that?

A: Sorry, but consumer media playback devices typically are not of the same quality as professional sound equipment. When music is played at high volumes any flaws become painfully evident. If given enough notice we can obtain your favorite music selections. Unlike some companies, we play only Licensed music. Playing non-licensed, or illegally obtained music would be placing our Music License rights agreement at risk.

Q: Can I and my guests make requests?

A: I will take both verbal and written requests during the event and will "read" the audience while sequencing the musical selections. I also receive requests prior to the event via the event planner, phone, or email. Requests will be qualified based on how appropriate they are to the styles of music enjoyed by a majority of the guests, and as well as for their content.

Q: What is the charge for planning, setup, and tear-down?

A: Some companies charge extra for this, we believe that it's part of the package. No hidden charges.

Q: How loud will the music be?

A: During cocktail hour and dinner, the music will be at a volume loud enough to be enjoyed but not so loud conversation is difficult. After dinner the volume will be increased to a level so that the people dancing can enjoy it but no so loud it irritates the rest of your guests. We monitor the volume during the entire event to ensure that it is maintained at a pleasant level. We understand that volume levels can be the biggest complaint about a DJ.

Q: Do we have to tip our entertainer.

A: We feel you are not obligated in any way to tip your entertainer. If you feel your entertainer did a great job and would like to express your gratitude with a tip it will be appreciated.

Q: Does the the DJ provide a microphone for the speeches?

A: We provide a wireless microphone for speeches and announcements, no extra charge.

Q: How far in advance should I book my DJ?

A: There is no set time period to book a DJ, but bear in mind that some times of the year are busier than others. During peak wedding season it's not unusual for companies to be booked 12 months into the future. If you have any doubts, book earlier than later. Last minute booking attempts may leave you in a position where to have to sacrifice your first choices in many areas.

Q: Does your DJ Company provide a Backup System?

A: It's Murphy's law no matter how well we take take of our equipment, it can and will break down. We carry backup equipment in all key areas, so odds are if we have a malfunction you won't even be aware of it, the party will just keep on going!

Q: Can you provide a Written Contract?

A: Yes, we provide a written contract.

Q: Do you act as a Master of Ceremonies?

A: Yes, it's included in our packages, we will make all appropriate announcements and keep everything going smoothly.

Q: Can I (we) see you in action?

A: It's a reasonable request, however we respect the privacy of our clients. Please keep the following in perspective: How would you feel if I or any other vendor invited prospective clients to your wedding?

Q: Do you use professional equipment?

A: We carry state-of-art, commercial grade equipment from a variety of well respected manufacturers (see our equipment page).

Q: What kind of music do you play?

A: We take into account the context of the event that we are are performing at and play music that both fits the occasion as well
as providing an atmosphere that will keep a majority of the attendees entertained. We carry an extensive library of music dating from the Big Bands, thru today's Top 40 Hits such as R&B, Club, Dance, Rap, Country and many other styles.

Q: How will the DJ be dressed?

A: The DJ will be dressed appropriately for your event, we don't believe in wearing a tux as to not take the focus off of the wedding party.

Q: Do we have to provide a meal for the DJ?

A: Although it's not necessary, it's a nice gesture, as we may not have time to leave the venue to obtain a meal after setup is completed.

Q: Can you provide a sound system, music and microphones for the ceremony?

A: We have enough equipment that we can have a separate system specifically set-up for the ceremony, we will work with your planner to make sure that everyone is in the right place at the right time, and everything flows smoothly. We can either provide this service either stand-alone from the reception, or as a bundle with reception services , slide show or photography services.

Q: Do you play music with profanity?

A: As a general rule we are playing events that are family oriented, and we play either edited versions of the songs, or if we believe that it doesn't fit the occasion we won't play it. Of course the ultimate decision is yours as to what you feel is appropriate for your event and guests.

Hopefully this answers most of your questions, if not just get in touch with us. We will be happy to discuss the specifics of your event and answer all of your questions.
